Alright folks, i thought i would annoy everybody by starting the first official ‘what will be at legends ‘ thread. As will all know, there have been a few rumblings that a certain japenese plane may attend as its printed on the ticket (its probably just there to throw people off the trail).
Does anybody know what we can expect to see this year?
At the moment the confirmed planes are:
BBMF LANCASTER (SUNDAY ONLY)
BBMF DAKOTA
BBMF SPITFIRE
BBMF HURRICANE
RNHF SEA FURY
B17 G SALLY B
For those who do not wish to contribute, please don’t, but for those who do then fire away.
If not what would be your dream line up at ‘legends’?
cheers and i can not wait for the reaction!! :dev2: :dev2:

Oh, I don’t know – he does materialise briefly every 12 months or so.
At least he’s consistent. 🙂

Ashley. We need to discuss pulling Willow’s account.
Doesn’t seem committed enough to me.

Thanks for that.
Just what I wanted to here, as I have a prior engagement (typically) that weekend so can’t make the Saturday or Sunday.
Cheers

So what exactly goes on on the friday then? Is it just arrivals or is there practising and airtests?
More importantly, is it the just the standard Duxford entrance fee………..
Typically lots of flying by participants – air tests, arriving visitors, display practises and authorisations, air to air sorties etc, etc. (will probably be nothing now I’ve said that…. )
Yes – standard entrance.

Hello
Does anybody known if Pink Lady the French B17 this at Legends this Year ?
Also why do Sally B and Pink Lady fly so far apart ?
The Sea Fury at was at Legends in 2004 or 2005 not the RNHF one.
Whats the story with this plane this it based in the UK ?
Does it fly much ?
Will it be Legends in 2006 ?
You on about the Sea fury based at BOH owned by someone Bradshaw?

I’m pretty sure I read on here somewhere that Pink Lady will be there. I do wish they would display closser together even if just for one pass. If they can do it down The Mall with 2 B25s why not over Duxford. I also think they should display at the end of the show so they can be part of the balbo.

Duxford Flying Legends for me is like going to Silverstone for a Grand Prix you know it costs more and is it crowded The flying / racing doesn’t last as long as some of the other venues you could go to, but what you get is the best, end of story
The only bad thing is that Silverstone and Legends more often than not is the same weekend. I must have made my priorities as the score is currently Duxford 4 – Silverstone 1 (and Schumacher didn’t score…) 😉

The only people who have the right to complain about the number of Spitfires are those flying for the Luftwaffe in the 1940s.
What a wonderful education the show is for the Children.
What a great place to meet your friends for a day out.
What a great place to use both your sun cream and umbrella in one day!
What an electric atmosphere the place has.
1) thats if the children can see anything, they learn quick ” I’m fed up can we go home”
2) If you can find them among the tents, wind breaks, ladders etc.
3)Sun cream in your eyes and an umbrella up ya bum due to lack of room.
4) People fighting for space.

You already have, when you joined/paid for Friends of Duxford.
But don’t have to pay extra on the day to enter the enclosure and as a ‘FOD’ we also get a 20% discount on admission, so get in a little bit cheeper. 😀

Similarly Friends of TFC, who also get on the flight line walk for free.

Well I can’t make the actual show this year but I will be at DX on the Friday. Hopefully there will be some arrivals/display practices.
