Hi folks,
I’ve just been sent the promotional leaflet for this year’s Flying Legends show, and from the artwork on the cover it seems pretty clear as to what Mr.Friedkin will be sending over (or should that be ‘sending home’) for this year’s show.
For those of you who haven’t got one, the artwork depicts three D-Day striped Spits with the ‘2I-” markings of 433sqn, complete with blue-tipped spinners and Hornet emblem on the cowlings.
Whilst I’d be perfectly happy to see ML417 ‘home’ again, I still can’t help wondering if it would really be worth dismantling and transporting a Spitfire across the Atlantic just to appear in one show, particularly when we have a number of Spits here already and remembering that ‘417 was based here until only a short time ago.
If I had the choice (which ofcourse I don’t), I think I’d prefer to see that lovelly Grumman J2F Duck of his at Legends rather than a Spit that’s already familiar to us.
Your thoughts..?

Perhaps it is already here!
Circa 16.30 today my wife informs me that a Spitfire flew East over Newport Pagnell/Milton Keynes. It was dark but had stripes underneath.
A wife in a million. 🙂

It was always promised she would return to Duxford at some point in time if it was possible.
