A few from me from what seemed a rather lacklustre display.

I REALLY liked the Yak

Absolutely correct. Unfortunately Sally B was still in tri-motor mode so only Liberty Belle and Pink Lady flew. What the heck? It was a good show as usual and I’m glad I went.

Isn’t that the B-17 that flew all the way from America.
I heard that there were 3 B-17’s on that day, Sally-B (Based at Duxford) Pink Lady from France, and the one that came from America.

Regardless of what Mononthefence says I enjoyed it as always. I’d almost pay the asking price for a ticket just to see the unusual machines they seem to get in each year.

Well you didn’t have to attend……
Doesn’t even look as if you bought a ticket.
I thought Nick was one of those who don’t have to buy a ticket (but I may be wrong).
Plus, how can anyone know what, to them, is going to be lacklustre compared to previous attendances unless they actually do attend???
A rather strange comment that one.

And you missed Nick telling you it wasn’t him.
Ahhhh :o:o:o

They look a bit ‘noisy’ to me, ISO up to 400 perhaps?
Best shot of the YAK I have seen, that pale blue is a tricky colour to get any punch or contrast out of.

Thats why I swayed away from Manonthefence.

Do you mean your ‘the MAN ON the other side of THE FENCE clue’?
By: RobAnt - 15th July 2008 at 18:31
That last one is a stunner.
So whos hat is it then?;)
You missed a clue in one of my posts in another thread.

More competition winners there, Nick! Great stuff – as always.

OOO I like the ‘Stangs over the B17’s but I think you should start your own thread.

Legends 08 Sunday
Yet more Legends pictures plus two gratuitous photos of the Frecce Tricolori G91PANS and Italian Starfighter at Fairford, to see what reaction I’d get.
There’s been lots of talk about Fairford, lets see a few pictures from the days when Fairford /Greenham was REALLY worth going to. Lets face it, the whole thing has become so predictable. I’m sure there were many of you who stood there with their jaws dropping as the sky filled with soviet aircraft en mass and that flypast of TU95 and Il76 went past, I had trouble keeping my camera steady I remember that much.
How many moments to rival that have there been since??

You obviously weren’t on the public side for these, how did you wangle that one, did you fly in??, after the horrendous P38 incident I would have thought this area out of bounds ………nice images though.

Indeed, but Robbo knows whose hat it is 😀
One more that I forgot, the beautiful but fragile P40B
