Cargomaster…well I cannot speak for anyone else, but I for one am not offended…since Saturday I have tried to hold on to the image of the Firefly with the Nimrod, Gladiator and Sea Hurricane as that is how I would like to remember her – your pic will help me do this.

Dear David l can assure you l am a wonderful person or so Digby,Sparky and others tell me but enough of that it is a c—- job the only thing that is correct is the red band round the rudder and the original pilot shot down three aircraft and damaged one other inl think March 1945 all in the air quitw a feat at that time in the war and l have been round P-51s some 30 years and interested in the 8th FC for some 40 years. l respect your opinion and if we do meet u will will sat what a nice old F— !! all the best Diplomatic. PS Sparky knows how l got the nickname Diplomatic perhaps he will tell you:)

Diplomatic – how did you manage to think up that name for your postings ! Judging by the effort that TFC put in to get her ready for the show I wouldn’t have cared if they had got a five year old to paint her with Humbrol as long as it looked something like!
How often do you get the chance to see that number of aircraft
in a 78th scheme?
It’s worth bearing in mind that these aircraft were warplanes- they were battered, oil stained and patched to keep them in the air – they were not vintage Bentley’s .
