Ok, having read this through properly, I would like to remind all members (not that you all need reminding, but to keep it fair ;)) that rumour mongering can lead to a whole heap of trouble – this forum is not just a board for a few like minded people it is a global community with members (and perhaps even more importantly silent observers from all over the world – including stalwarts of the aviation community) Unsubstantiated rumours can be very damaging, and the posting of such rumours is actively discouraged. Given that this thread in my opinion serves little purpose than to stir up trouble and bad feeling, I will lock this thread. Any queries please PM me.

Oh and veetwin, to answer your question, I think the day the IWM or TFC ban German veterans from attending Legends, Satan will be skating to work.

Sorry to be boring and factual, rather than taking the thread with some levity it deserves, but racism is actually illegal in the UK (not that you’d know it on the forum on occasion. 😀 ) so your rumour is just that. A nasty little piece of stiring you are helping spread.

The point is, I heard this rumour from a close source, that a prominent company with a trade stand has been prevented from bringing over some German veteran pilots. If this is the case, this is despicable, and smacks of hideous false protocol!

We all know that airshows need to be revitalised and Luftwaffe aircraft on the circuit will do just this, as will veteran pilots. Only last week I received an email offering me an Fw 190 for an airshow…we need these fast.

If they let me in they’ll let anyone in. Personally I hope this rumour proves to be false. The time has come to bury the hatchet (not in someone’s head either) but at the same time to remember the losses on both sides.

To quote Basil Fawlty – “For God’s sake don’t mention the war………….!!!!!!!!!”. I do of course mean the verbal war between Blair, Schroeder and Chirac. We beat one in 1945 and rescued the other a year earlier so sucks boo to you……………!!
Seriously though, I would love to see a large contingent of both French and German warbirds and their pilots at Legends. They do add something special along with the pilot contingent from the USA plus a couple of New Zealand aces.
No matter what appears we are gonna have a memorable weekend.
