Flying Legends (the past)

With this years Flying Legends approaching fast and still no firm details of participating aircraft I thought it might be a good idea to look back over the previous shows and post a few pics of participants… There have been over 130 different aircraft on the flight line static only or also involved in the flying. Some are there every year (mainly TFC aircraft) some only appeared on one day and every aircraft that has appeared can probably be described as ‘Legendary’ in some way (even the ‘Utterly Butterly’ Stearman).

Most years have at least one new addition to the scene and some years there is a previous participant in a new paint scheme, which is guaranteed to get thousands of eager photographers looking for that ’x-factor’ shot of the aircraft on its own or in a unique mixed formation.

Of course this years show will be a bit of an anti climax to some, as they have already seen and photographed four of the expected stars ( G-PSIC, G-HUPW, G-CCCA and G-CCVH ), but there is always the chance of something we were not expecting, personally I’ve still to see the BBMF’s Hurricane in its new colours and the ‘Rasta Cat’ in the overall white scheme.

While on the subject of Flying Legends, it would be an idea if some of us found a different position to shoot our pics, as there is always an element of overkill on the shots posted, and you blokes who are privileged to get on the live side how about sharing some of the shots you are not publishing for money (just a thought).

Any way a few shots from the past to get the ball rolling, now everybody join in.
