Chaps/Chapesses
do not forget the excellent Flypast sponsored Cockpit Fest at Newark Air Museum on the 15/16th June!
It would be nice if a few of the Newsgroup made it there. Indeed it would be an excellent place to discuss proposed projects such as a Whirlwind replica! The atmosphere is lovely with a sort of garden party/relaxed time to be had.
All round the country, cockpiteers (I cannot believe I wrote that!!) are frantically polishing their helmets (flying!), painting their bits in all prepping for the weekend. It is a superb chance for all to see inside these aircraft…particularly for modellers so they can actually get reference shots to get the colours right!
See you there?

RE: Flypast Cockpit Festival At Newark Air Museum
Hi All,
There’s also a Lancaster week-end, to celebrate the 60th annivesary, at Newark on the 18th & 19th May, so I’ve been told. Can anyone confirm this?

‘fraid not. It’s in so many bits at the moment I’d have to transport it in about 300 shoeboxes! Maybe next year when it looks more like an aeroplane and I’ve got some of that lovely desert camo on it.

Never mind that, just take ’em all!

If you’re interested there’s a list of the confirmed visiting cockpits on the International Cockpit Club website. This list is updated as soon as new attendees are confirmed and is starting to look quite tasty!
It’s at http://www.internationalcockpitclub.org.uk on the News page.
