AFAIK, easyJet don’t have a cabin crew shortage, they have expanded too fast and haven’t managed to get the right security to fly the crew, or something like that. There was a thread about this the other day on the forum.

AFAIK, they have. Hence all of the cancellations as of late.

Whether it be because they havn’t recruited enough crew or because they havn’t had secuirty checks carried out is irrevelevant in a way – either way, they have a crew shortage if it means they can’t operate flights.

Maybe there has been another influx of visitors to the site, who all want to apply for Cabin Crew positions. Perhaps the site couldn’t handle all that traffic.

Probably! :p

LMAO!!!

The flysunjet.com website appears to have been removed altogether!

What happened?

Was it closed down by choice or some other reason?

If this thread degenerates into the saga we had with Alpha1 it will close, please feel free to discuss away the particulars about FlySunJet but keep the discussion constructive and free from personal skirmishes towards each other.

Copy of an email from NCL Airport

Dear %$%$

We are aware of this proposed airline and have been privy to its confidential plans for operation. They are very much at a tentative stage but personally I am very surprised at the fact they are actively recruiting for cabin crew members given their proposed start date and the very early stage of their planning.

Kind regards

Can’t resist.

One Ford Focus (if that’s what it is) with stickers & a set of yellow lights does not an airline make.

Perhaps they’re using that to take people on their hols. More chance than an ATR42.

Cynical?? Moi??

Likewise, why should that ‘concern’ you? Clearly a lot of forum members are ‘concerned’ about whether or not this airline is going to be a success. It seems that just about everybody has ‘concerns’. If you want to believe it, that’s up to you. But it’s fair to say that you’re very much outnumbered.

I’m just a considerate kind of guy and I’d hate to see others mucked around regardless of whether I know the people or not. I have experience of being strung along for many weeks believing that a job was available and was actually offered it. After weeks of waiting, the company explained that the job was no longer available. I am very sure that this will be happening at flySunJet.com. Jobs will be offered to individuals, hopes will be built up, and it will all come to nothing.

Do correct me if I’m wrong, but I could have sworn I wasn’t the only member being negative about this venture. Would you care to pick up others for their negativity?

If, before allowing your arrogance to influence your posting, you actually bothered to take note of my words I said “I wonder if people“. I did not make a specific reference to you in any way.

Also, please don’t give me the whole ridiculous and patronising ‘if you’re stupid enough to believe it’ speech. My point has nothing whatsoever to do with ‘believing’ anything. I’m simply expressing my surprise at how easy it is for people in general to be so negative as soon as anyone mentions starting a new venture, whether you and others consider it doomed from the start or not.

I wonder sometimes if people are so negative in their general lives as they are on internet forums. If they are that ‘concerns’ me.
I assume you mean you’ll be damp-leasing, as dry leasing doesn’t include pilots?[/QUOTE

Wouldnt someone starting up an airline, know the difference between dry, damp and wet leasing!

No disrespect but I really dont think were going to see flysunjet taking off. Wouldnt using an ATR be a bit of a contradiction to the name anyway since its a prop not a jet, and NCL isnt the sunniest place in the world in the middle of winter! Dont easyjet have a cabin crew shortage at NCL, yet an airline that hasnt even got a plane has over a 100 cabin crew wanting to work for them?

I have every respect for someone who has guts to start up there own business, especially in cut throat aviation. But you need deep pockets and a lot of start up capital, just to satisfy the CAA requirements. New start ups hemrige money. The lease on a used ATR is round the $300000 a month mark.

My advice would be to forget starting in NCL and head to Greece or somewhere, get a PSO contract and then at least you get money from the government regardless of how many pax you got! 😉

Good luck to ya anyway in whatever area of aviation you decide to go in to
Its all exciting! :dev2:

And why would a serious concern threaten to stop posting on this or any other forum unless people start believing him? Seen him before on another forum and it sounded dodgy there too.

Equipped for airport use? Just looks like a set of yellow lights to me. Most companies take the easy option and use the small magnetic yellows.

I’m really concerned that 100+ members of the public have applied for cabin crew positions with an airline that has nothing but a car and a website. This seems such an enormous number of people for an airline that plans to operate just one ATR-42 for now. I just hope these gullible people aren’t wasting their time.

Why on earth should it ‘concern’ you? You haven’t applied, you’re not wasting any of your time, and the outcome will not affect you in even the slightest way.

Surely no serious businessman would announce their intentions on a public forum, especially when the users of that forum are so familiar with the various failed startups of recent times anyway.

Like just about everybody else, I’m sceptical that this venture will take off. I believe it’s all going to come to nothing. A car with a few coloured letters and an orange flashing light on top, along with yet another amateurish temporary website (blatently a free template that came with a cheap hosting package… I get them, too) isn’t convincing me.
