What do you all think are some realistic features that will be in the next generation of warships? Or how will the future surface combat Ver.2 look in 2040?

Most places I read say there won’t be substantial increases to weapons. Same VLS, same main gun.
Main change is to the radars. The S band AESA, AMDR replacing SPY-1, and a new X band AMDR component, that will be fulfilled by SPQ-9B on initial ships, and by a true fixed face X band radar on later flight iii ships. They also replace 3×3 megawatt electric plants with 3×4 megawatt plants.
There will also be less notable changes inside of course. Sonar upgrades, internal electronics.
I think recently the USN said it was starting to look into a new destroyer called “future surface combatant,” to come into service in the 2030s. But that is obviously ages away. Who knows what new tech will see itself on that ship by then.
In the near term to mid term it looks like flight iii burke will be the main mass production surfaces combatant of the USN.

In the near future: nothing. The replacements (DDG(X)/Zumwalt, CG(X) ) were too expensive, therefore the Arleigh Burke class is still being built.
Are the details of the Flight III already fixed? Which ship will be the first Flight III? How it will be equipped?

As per your link:
The CG(X) program, also known as the Next Generation Cruiser program, was a United States Navy program to replace its 22 Ticonderoga class cruisers after 2017. Original plans were for 18–19 ships, based on the 14,500 ton Zumwalt class destroyer but providing ballistic missile defense and area air defense for a carrier group. The program was cancelled in 2010; its mission is to be taken by Flight III Arleigh Burke–class destroyers instead.
The question was “what comes after Flight III Arleigh Burke–class destroyers”!
