Footage Detectives

Watching a recent episode of Footage Detectives on TPTV, I spotted something unusual in a piece of film from an airport.

The footage showed passengers sitting around outside waiting to board a BEA viking sometime between 1947 and 1952. No idea where this happened if you can identify the airfield, the hosts would be grateful.

But it’s what’s in the background as G-AHPP taxis out. On the far side of the field is the unmistakable outline of a B-17, alongside a C-47 and another large a/c.  Any ideas what it was, where it was or what it was doing ?

Could easily be a USAF SB-17G at that date.

Looks rather like Northolt, which could make sense as it was used for civilian operations (Vikings, Dakotas etc) while Heathrow was being built, and would also receive regular military traffic such as B-17s operated by Sweden, Denmark, Portugal and USAF.
