Had a look at the website, any pics of the 1917 onwards Ford Model T’s would be great, lovely little cars.

Errrrrm…. everything? Boy you are lucky

Ok I’ll try to get some detail shots of the FE8 for you anything else I’m going to be in the restoration shop for awhile so I will see what I can get for photos.

I’m not sure wht we are going to be able to put up in the Air it depends on the Weather and how many pilots are around. Also we will have to get someone to fly the Moth so I can take the photos. Hopefully the Curtis will have its new engine installed and the other SE5 will be done so I can get some shots.

Thanks Crazy Mainer,

Interestingly the Demoiselle replica Blue Max and I are talking about isn’t shown on the museum’s website.

I suspect that the one in front of the Tacoma-Tokyo biplane is one of Robert Baslee’s ‘Dream Classic’ ultralights. See picture below, with a pic from Old Rhinebeck’s website of their 1909 Demoiselle replica for comparison.

The Dream Classic may not be a perfect replica but it looks like fun. Anyone fancy a go at building one?

Ok now I know what you guys are talking about yea they are trying to get insurance to fly it next year. The web site hasn’t been updated for a few years they have some other stuff missing from it also. Like another SE5 and some new cars.

Wow didn’t realise there was any FE-8’s still around, even if it is a replica. Looks like an interesting place, would be nice to go stateside sometime.

This is the caption and picture off the museum’s website:

This F.E.8 was built in California by Jack Gardiner and Robert Sebring. Gardiner then made an epic flight in it to Owls Head in 1980, taking 32 days. On arrival he donated the plane to the Museum.

It has a flat-six Continental engine instead of the rotary too, but after that flight, no wonder he donated it rather than try to take it back home!

GASML,

Its not a replica its an original that came from a barn somewhere in Maine I’m not sure the whole history. They are trying to get some insurance for it so they can fly it.

If their is anything you would like me to get more photos of let me know I’m going back up in a few weeks to bring the Moth up for the Winter.

Not only that, check out the Baslee Demoiselle replica lower down. Big enough for a full size person to fly, light enough to qualify as a microlight……..hmmmm……..

Blue Max,

Ye sit is a A65 I think the prop is just for show I think the prop is one of the many hanging on the wall. Its in for a complete rebuild they hope to start it some time next year. They have a back log on some other aircraft including gettting the Curtis engine change and the Nieuport 18 having a Gnome installed.

Its worth the trip along with the aircraft they have a great collection of early Cars/Bikes and Steam Engines.

The Question about the aircraft behind the Bleriot is indeed a Curtis JH-4 with a OX-4
