For DaveM2 re Flugwerk

Dave,
mentioned in the latest Classic wings that once they complete the run of 190`s that are being produced, Flugwerk will break up!! as in destroy the tooling???
is this correct?
why would such a drastic measure be taken? They have tooling that is proven to be able to produce stunning recreations of the FW 190 and they are going to destroy it??
if for no other reason I would think the purchasers of the current run would be against this, as if they needed any components in the future, due damge they would be out of luck.
Any thoughts on this?
It really seems like it would be a backward decision with the current state of preservation and reproduction production.

So will Glynn Powell be burning his Mosquito fuse fixtures after a set number of Fuselages have been produced?? I bet not!!

Yes, Claus said the jigs would be ‘torn down’, so that they may concentrate on the manufacture of P-51 structural components, I guess they won’t do this lightly and have studied the market. I am not sure if this would preclude any parts manufacture , rather that ‘complete’ aircraft will no longer be possible.
As you say, Glynn probably won’t destroy his moulds, although he has no intention to switch to another type, so a bit different in that sense.

Okay, just got an reply from Claus
” The jigs will be stored, along with the 970+ tools ( stamping tools
etc. ). But other than stamping a few new ribs or similar, a complete set up
for manufacturing new 190’s will economically not be feasible for just a
single kit.”
