For HP 57

Hello Cees.
I dug out a couple of very rare and very old pics of a civilian Halifax and a Halton to post on here. Hope you enjoy them!!
Apologies for the quality as they were very small pics about the size of a business card before I blew then up a bit

Really enjoy these old pictures…

Just in case anyone was interested in these aircraft details are as follows (according to what I’ve managed to find out):

G-AKEC HP.70 A.Mk.8 ex-PP282 c/n 1355. Registered 15 Aug ’47 Named “Air Voyager” of Lancashire Aircraft Corp. She was DBR when blown against G-AHDV at Squires Gate 17 Dec ’52. She once raced and came in 24th at an average 267mph. Race number 73.

F-BESE HP.70 A.Mk.8 ex-PP223 c/n 1307. Registered 10 Sep ’47 as G-AKGP “Ker Goaler” of Airtech. Registered F-BESE 15 Jun ’48 gaining French CofA 17 Aug ’48. Registered in France to Societe Anonyme de Navigation Aeriennes. She was finally scrapped at Blackbushe in 1950.

Just though someone might like to know…

I wonder if there is anything left in France after they scrapped the Halifaxes in the fifties? There must be at least parts surviving somewhere

Thats right Cees. I mean there has got to be a throttle quadrant lying in the bushes or being used as a door stop!

Thanks Peter,
Great pics, G-AKEC is a well-known airframe.

Looking at the French Hally, I wonder if there is anything left in France after they scrapped the Halifaxes in the fifties? There must be at least parts surviving somewhere 😮

Cheers

Cees
