Just to let you all know there will be a Brooklands Classic Wings and Wheels fly-in and display on June 4 at Dunsfold aerodrome.
This is being organised jointly by The Rutland Group, owners of Dunsfold Aerodrome, and the Brooklands museum and it is to raise money for local charities and the Brooklands Museum Trust.
The flying programme is yet to be finalised but it is intended that as many Brooklands-related and Dunsfold-related aeroplanes will be there, either static or displaying.
More will be announced here as things are finalised.

Yummy! Will they be transporting it on a Queen Mary trailer, or will it driven down?
Can you imagine it on the A281? Mind you I bet there would be a moron in an Astra with spoilers trying to overtake!

I might decide to grace your torrid little event with my presence.
Are any of your naval acquaintances joining you? 🙂 😉 🙂
I take my navel everywhere with me . . .

We are hoping for a good day.
I like quotes like this!
We should be running the Napier Railton so you get to hear a Napier Lion aero engine too.

Thanks for the reply. I thought of suggesting it as a fly-in venue elsewhere, but sounds as though it would be difficult.
Could always drive up!

Do you know if spamcans would be welcome to fly in? 🙂
Places are limited and we already have a lot of classics lined up. The best thing to do is register your interest with Brooklands (letter to Julian Temple at Brooklands Museum will be best) and hope.
Either that or buy a Viscount. We’d like one of those.

Hello Bograt and all,
As I am at the other end of the Central line, in sunny West Acton(!!!) I will certainly try to pop over for the day.

Hi Tim;
North Weald is still very much under threat. The NWAUG (NW Airfield users group) are actively seeking support and there will be an ‘Open day’ of sorts at the Airfield on March 6th, starting about 11am.
NWAUG are inviting anyone with an interest to come along and show their support, so if any forumites have the need of a day out on Sunday next, do go along and you will be warmly welcomed.

Hello All,
This sounds better than the airfields current use..
Perhaps they could do a live weapons demo with more AAC Apache’s as Jeremy Clarkson drives up and down the runway desparately trying to escape…… :dev2: :diablo:
I’m sure the BBC pays good money to use it, but it seems to be a bit of a wasted airfield to me.
While I’m on the airfield subject, does anyone know anymore about the potential fate of North Weald, or if Coltishall will have a future after the Jaguars have gone??
Cheers
Tim

I’ve put it on the Forum calendar.
You can go to that date and select the option to set a reminder.
