dark light

For those who were kind enough to ask after the Colt

Captured at the first moment of flight by my good friend Marek.

Have you thought about buying wheel spats?

Yup

Upside:
They look tons better

Downside:
They actually make the aircraft slower / less economical
They cost money.

Result – 2 – 1 in favour of no spats.

Nice to see it with air under its wings again instead of being stuck at OB and yes, the weather was “interesting” in Norfolk on Saturday lunch time!

can you say ‘zooming up to 30ft’ ?? 🙂

I can say it. I can’t honestly pretend it’s quite as impressive as a Vulcan or Lightning 😮

Y11F – We are lucky at LKI, it drains superbly and even the based Arrow has never had to stop operating by reason of waterlogging.

Glad to see you have the Colt back again particularly with the weather being so awful over the weekend, we decided against flying our stuff over the weekend as the runway was so wet and the local viz so bad.
Lets hope this coming weekend is better!!!

The principle is the same.

It’s only the number of noughts that have changed 🙁

“You can generally tell if it’s me by my habit of holding the aircraft really low until the speed has built.”
You didn’t used to fly Vulcans, by any chance? Or Lightnings at air displays? Zooming straight up to 30,000 feet from the end of the runway!

Was that today? If so, sorry I missed it — I flew into Old Buck this morning, unfortunately I managed to leave the free landing fee voucher at home!

Good to hear you’re airborne again.

No, that was Saturday at about 1305. 🙂

Thanks Damien. Much better now!

Who else would be stupid enough to take an aircraft straight out of deep maintenance into a sky laced with thunderstorms and head off towards one of the blackest bits of the horizon?

You can generally tell if it’s me by my habit of holding the aircraft really low until the speed has built.

Notice the numbers on OB’s vast 650M runway just about 4ft below the tyres 🙂
