For Whalebone.

Sir.

A thousand thank you’s. I have not commented on your daily threads before but have read them all. You have done the forum a wonderful service in keeping the Battle of Britain fresh in our minds and in our hearts. I am sure those you have ensured we remember would also express their profound gratitude to you.

We all know how much the veterans of the Battle of Britain, of all trades, shaped the world we live in today. Your efforts and commitment have done great Honour to those who fought in that Summer of 1940.

I was thinking today of an old neighbour who was an airman on 234 Sqdn during the Battle. He told me many many stories, the significance of many of which I never realised until much later. He passed away quite a few years ago now.

So, L.A.C. Arthur Reynolds, 234 Squadron, R.A.F., and your comrades, I salute you all.

Regards,

kev35
