Forgotten Irish heroes

I thought that perhaps the author of this article might appreciate a wider audience. It also seemed only right and proper so here you go:

How could we even forget them if we never knew about them? 🙁

Bob Geldof, not so much for the obvious but for that classic Live Aid outburst.. “F*ck the address!”

Also Phil Lynot for another quote from Thin Lizzy’s Live and Dangerous album… “Are there any women in the crowd with some Irish in them …? Would any of them like some more Irish in them ?”:D

Des Lynam for telling Gary Lineker where to get off when slagging of the Irish football team a couple of World Cups ago.

Todd Carty for being Tucker Jenkins, Pierce Brosnan for actually being Irish and having a crap Hollywood Irish accent.:p

Namewise, i think SOC should apply for gettin the title.

As for runner-up, i think Brandon Behan (sp?) is a decent candidate. Not too many playwrites who liked to get drunk during performances of their own plays, then starting to comment on the actors and directing during the performances…

And Shane McGowan. Of course.

True – but when you watch the tourists leaving in an uncertain manner you can’t help but admit that they are helping top up the local infrastructure with their fines for drunk driving…
And the firewater was cheaper in the on site shop, too!

Yum yum.;)

The Islay’s are good but so are the Speysides, Almost finished my festive bottle of The Macallan.

A nice malt, with hot water, ginger or nutmeg (add some lemon for a cold) Yum yum !:D

My old grannie in Donegal swore by ’em. She swore about a lot of things actually.

I tried some rice wine once and that was hot. It tasted like hot lard to me. Not nice. I’m not sure about hot whiskey. Jamiesons maybe its got the right taste but not scotch. Then again some people have water and ice with their scotch so who am I to argue?
