? Formation over Hertfordshire 16-9-07

At 1230pm yesterday i saw what i thought to be four F16s flying low and slow northwards over westmill farm hertfordshire, these aircraft were flying in v formation with no aircraft in the starboard position directly behind the leader. Not wishing to draw any conclusions as to the reason for this flight i would like to ask the forum if anyone can provide any relevant infomation.

After the very sad losses over the weekend may i pass on my deepest sympathy and condolences to all concerned.

I’m in Braughing and they flew over the village North bound. I’m guessing they were marking events up in London (?) and using the slim gap between Luton and Stansted airspace, along the A10/B1368. They were definately Tornados…couldn’t quite make out the special scheme on one of the tails…

Hi Tommy

I was at a cub camp at Colliers End, a couple of miles from you, and they went right over the top of us, just as the camp was finishing, couldnt really have been timed better.

It was 4 Tornado’s and I presume they were the Battle of Britain flypast returning home.
