Having been stored at Tarbes since August 2010, this A340, now sporting a Manx registration, flew to Dublin last evening for painting by Eirtech. Presumably that means it’s destined for a new operator.

Another little bird had it that another of the A340-500s that was built for Kingfisher but never delivered was to be prepared for HiFly.

Aircraft was A9C-LF, msn 133 now belonging to Squadron Leasing V111 of Dublin. I believe the plane came from Tarbes and had been in storage for almost four years.
Oh, and a little bird told me it was going to Hi-Fly but don’t quote me. 😉

Unlikely, you should be seeing three legs! 😉 and there is no order for a 340 that I can see.

For a plain white coat for an A340, somewhere between $50,000 and $70,000 I’d expect.
She is half white already :dev2:
But seriously, the rudder already seems to have a marking which is nothing to with the original Gulf colours.
Is that a Giraffe’s leg = Air Tanzania?

So what would a typical new coat cost?;)

Nah, they give planes a fresh coat of paint before scrapping them :diablo:
Nice pics though!
