On the day that Jules Bianchi was badly injured in the Japanese Grand Prix it seems another (former) driver has departed.
Former Formula 1 driver Andrea De Cesaris has died at the age of 55.
The Italian was killed in a motorbike accident in Rome, the official F1 website confirmed.
He started 208 races in his Formula 1 career between 1980 and 1994, but never won a Grand Prix, a record for the most races without a win…
Race fans knew him as Andrea de Crasharis due to the large number of unfinished races where he retired due to accidents.

The post title made my heart skip a beat thinking that Jules Bianchi had died. Very sad to hear that Andrea de Cesaris had passed .
Condolences to De Cesaris family and get well soon to Jules.
Perhaps the thread title should say former or ex Formula 1 driver to make things clear.

Hi All,
Remember him fondly, such a young age as well. RIP Mr De Cesaris.
