Because Andy and I were talking about the film only the other day, he understands full well that it is a spoof. Thus Andys post was taking the ****

And you have just proved my point 😀

Steve, if you think he’s bad now, just wait until Andy has seen the latest Hollywood gem that’s been released here – ‘Churchill, the Hollywood Years’.

Should really help Anglo-US relations

🙂

Err, I think you’ll find Andrew that it is a British film that lampoons what America’s Hollywood does to British stories, so I’d imagine it will be well liked by many on this forum.

Looks like a great British line up in the cast

I hope they take note of the originally and do the brilliant freeze frame opening credits. In fact, all this talk of the film has made me want to see it again. Better fish out the DVD.

ear muffs children! 😀 really the movie Flight of the Phoenix the remake looks a bit cheesy compared to the original. I mean where did the bandits come from, and aren’t they using the wrong plane? Shouldn’t it be a C-82 packet not a C-119 Flying Boxcar?

Yes, Sir, it has a great pub, called The Crown 😉 You are acting like a GD guy, cool,  Welcome 😀

There’s a better one in Leiston.

More accurately, there was, I haven’t been there for about 15 years now. Landlord was a complete a*se but the beer was good.

they had to remake it

as there was no popsy in the original; I can’t think of another reason. And yes, Pearl Harbor was absolutely the worst piece of celluloid excrement ever to be seen in any theatre anywhere; in fact I wasn’t aware until seeing the film that a non-combat experienced pilot in a P-40 could successfully turn with a Zero on his tail for five minutes without getting a 20mm colonic. Interesting stuff that.

cheers

Even that total piece of **** film “Pearl Harbor” had some redeaming value, due to it’s aviation content.

Nope that in no way redeemed that piece of CGI badly written crap. Kate Beckinsale on the other hand!!! (didnt Godber do well 🙂 )

F*cking Holly-f*cking-Wood. They can’t even get your history right.
The Imperial Japanese Navy’s attack on Pearl Harbo(u)r must be the single most documented event in the history of warfare and they even f*cked that up.
Even the Oklahoma rolled over the wrong way! What a bunch of tw*ts.
I hope they never make a film about British military history again.
Even a fictional work like ‘The Flight of the Phoenix’ will be crap.
That’s all.
Your nasty bitter little(?) English mate.
Andy

Some supreme ranting there, Andy 😉 Keep at it!

We’ll have to have a forum ranting championship over on GD sometime….

And you say I’m edgy! All aviation films, by their very nature, have redeaming qualities. Even that total piece of **** film “Pearl Harbor” had some redeaming value, due to it’s aviation content.

You’re just a nasty, bitter little man, Jones. 😉
