Forum Infractions

Firstly hello all 🙂 Im stuart, a complete aircraft nut and Im nashio966’s best mate (also have the pleasure to work with the miserable git)

He’s just informed me that he’s been banned for a year for posting up a picture of an internet troll?!

Could someone please explain here how this is

A) proportionate
B) Just – where in my opinion and his the post said picture was referring to was utter rubbish, hence the picture of the troll.

Are the mods free to ban anyone they wish at will for an extended period without warning?

Nashio is banned until the 19th of august 2012

For gods sake chaps, get a grip there are people on here who are deliberately offensive, two of whom ousted one of the mods who has since resigned from his position – they were given a single weeks ban each.

So how please is a ban for a year even remotely proportionate?

I for one would like an explanation, the lifting of the ban and an apology from MPACHA.

Stuart

I am not privy to what has gone on with Nashio’s banning, and so it seems nor are some of you above.

Scott, there is always more to these things than meets the eye, so don’t judge unless you know the facts.

On that note, Muttley & Scott, if you are not happy then do as Lance says and take it up with the webmaster. Any more threads opened on this subject will be deleted without recourse.

Then take it to the Webmaster, Scott.

You’ve been a member here for long enough to know how it works by now.

seriously, banned for posting a picture? if you look through most of the topics ben has posted on, you’ll find that he has posted pictures…as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, i would be willing to bet 100 pound that he wasnt deliberately trying to be offensive

a new low being banned for that, honestly

My fence is enormously wide, and to accommodate my ample bulk it is reinforced too.

Hey Kev, you sound like the most sensible person on the forum all the time. How wide is your fence? 😉

I hope you are allowed to make positive comments about members without infringing any rules.:)

You might well think that. I couldn’t possibly comment. 😎

But if Muttley is Nashio, doesn’t that break the CoC as well? And if Muttley is nashio isn’t that a sad reflection of the times when someone his age has to invent an imaginary best friend?;)

A one month ban is the standard reward for extracting the urine from the forum rules and/or the moderators.

You’ve actually infringed item 3 of the site owners’ code of conduct (check it out for yourself) by posting this thread, so I doubt it’ll still be here in the morning.

Don’t know the context of what he did and frankly don’t need to. I think you’ll find that the CoC states very clearly that the final decision is down to the Moderators and the Webmaster.

That’s the problem with the internet these days, the anonymity and the immediacy. It can be a fantastic resource for sharing information and even for companionship. Trouble is, too many people, due to the anonymity, leave their common sense behind when they log on and the immediacy means it is far too easy to let your fingers be talking way ahead of your brain. We’re all guilty of it to an extent, some are just more guilty than others.

A 2 point disruptive behaviour infraction earns a ban of a month, not a year.

I should know, I dished out enough of them. 😉

Infractions are cumulative and stay ‘active’ for a year, hence the expiry date.

You…. er, I mean Nashio… will be able to post again in a month’s time.

kev35 while I understand your sentiments – do you agree that this ban is even remotely proportionate?

Ben has always walked a very fine line along the top of a very narrow fence. The only surprise is he didn’t fall the wrong side much, much sooner than this.

Erm Mutley I don’t think this is going to work this time mate!
why don’t you just play within the forum guidelines, you’ve not long been back?

Also where is the bit about banning? I have an infraction (undeserved of course!) but it dosen’t restrict my posting.
