Forum Java update. Possible virus or hijack?

From this forum I’m getting what looks like a hijack from http://www.upgradienk.com
I wouldn’t recommend clicking the link. It loads instead of the forum page requesting I click a link to update java.
Looks fishey to me?

Meh, can’t he just put a hat on when moderating…?

No. Tangmere is slow roasting it, awaiting news from The East

Bit over the top with riding the red, Moggy.

Which just goes to show how little moderating Moggy has to do keep us all ‘in check!’

Sorry Snafu. I am told by he who knows that, whilst he obviously understands, you everyday chaps all find it impossible to comprehend that when I write the word ‘Moderator’ under the name ‘Moggy’ I am… er… moderating

Moggy
Not moderating or it would all be in a fetching shade of red and the sig line below wouldn’t be below.

From the Webbie

Ok it seems there was a dodgy ad in the system but we don’t know how it got there as it is a part of the Google advertising system. It should have been taken out now, but let me know if it happens again

What the man says

Apologies from all of us.

Same for me yesterday as #9 – my Norton software identified it as a risk and quarantined the advert; if it helps I might be able to gather data from there!?!

Rob for me it was on the main forum page for historic and appeared to be the top banner add as once I declined the update , the broken Java icon appeared in the middle of said add..

It’s on many of the forum sites SNAF, as I have been going through them.

I’d advise against accepting any pop-up update without going to the source.
