In a forum exclusive I can report that Steve “Patty” Patterson was escorted out of Australia in the very early hours of this morning thus averting a diplomatic incident involving the apparent “misplacement” of several Sea Fury aircraft he had been spotted “casing” in the lead up to his arrest by crack Australian security troops. Offical spokesperson for Australian Federal agents James “shifty” Knightly asserted that this was a low key exercise and Mr Patterson was meerly asked to “move along sir” “out of the country please”.
Subsequent searches of Mr Pattersons luggage revealed major Sea Fury aircraft components including a 5 bladed propellor and a Bristol Centaurus Radial Sleeve valve aircraft engine. Mr Patterson alledged to officials that these had been placed there by a “fat ugly Aussie bloke with red hair” without his knowledge whilst he was chatting up a Singapore airlines hostess.
After a Midnight hearing in the Brisbane High Court it was ruled that Patterson be deported with the greatest haste possible. George Bush has ruled out any action against Patterson as he has enough trouble right now. Patterson was put on a slow plane to China and the matter is now closed according to Australian Prime Minister John Howard.
The photo hereunder depicts Patterson in happier times as he was welcomed into Brisbane by crack security staff redeployed from the UK to control the crowds which greeted Patterson everywhere he travelled on tour.

Never seen water ‘run’ anywhere, it lacks any kind of solid stucture to do so, not to mention will power…..now FLOWING is a whole different matter….one could say it FLOWS down the drain the wrong/right way, depending on where you’re from…
M
Well Mark, since you’re American I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt for not having an Oxford Dictionary of English, but among the many variations that the word ‘run’ can mean, included are
“…spread; flow; exude liquid; function; travel or convey from one point to another; …” so I believe water can run 😉
Hence the expression “I’ve got the runs!” 😮

I accept that Australian water is always going to be better than Pommy water–more inteligent, better to taste and it’s won a gold medal and the H2O equivalent of The Ashes every year for the last eighteen years.
Heh…
Still not convinced myself about the beer tho. However a light Chardonay does pass the time while waiting for the sparkling wine. “Many people pooh poo Australian Wines…” 😀

Hi Andy,
Since when is ‘first’ better, or indeed ‘right’?
You collected big on the Deighton discussion.
Care for another? :p
No James
now I’m a full time semi civil servant I only have six hours a day to spend on this forum and therefore can’t argue for as long as I used to do.

Glad you’re all having a good time.
I’ll PM you later.
Cheers

Seeing as the northern hemishere had running water before the Southern hemishere–it must by definition be the wrong way in the south!!! 🙂 🙂
Running water? I assume you mean plumbed water? Cor dear. All water runs, always has, so no-one was first on that score.

It’s a fast car.
The houses lean in the slipstream.
By the look of those flagettes on the wings it’s going backwards!
Do cars in the southern hemisphere travel backwards?
I mean the water goes down the plug-hole the wrong way.

Why is the house in the background leaning over at 45 degrees?
Has there been an earthquake or is that something to do with Aussie building regulations?

The corks were in bottles, resulting in loss of interest in attaching to hat.
…. make that loss of ability to attach corks due to the disappeared contents of the bottles, I presume ? :diablo:

We have (pictures of) silly hats on Steve.
We have corks.
