Actually, all the planes there needed saving and a good wash up. Only the black Spit IXc was in top condition. The static ones were in terrible shape. Dakota’s rotting away in the sun, an Avenger with paint coming off, Meteors in poor shape….everything rather horrible.

Didnt see Mustang 01 though.

Time to come clean:D .

After a quick check with my girlfriend, she told me its close to Be’er sheva. It’s also where the airworthy Israeli Spitfire is at. I saw it in person and it was beatiful in black and red.

Oh Andy, when it comes to your Old Ladies, u do seem to get yourself into some rather precarious places 😀

Me sat at the bottom of the tail with an Avon 302 between my legs (ooooer feel the force Missses 😀 )back in 2003 when we removed 904’s No2 twice in 6 months.

Its abit precarious up there, keeping the engine from swinging and giding it down the ‘slider’ plate 😮 😮
Loads of fun as the engine is to long for the hole it fits in, thats Lightnings :rolleyes:

A lot of you have asked for a photo and I found this one. It’s a photo set up for Mums family album but does show that I scrub up quite well. I have been told I look about twelve years old but it’s just the good skin care and Yorkshire air. Was taken about four years ago.
