Dear fellow members,
Going away on holiday for a week and my favourite forum has transformed itself. Some are good but I have some reservation with some of the changes. The idea of a code of conduct is a good idea, but if someone is to delete one of my subject they ought to explain why. Just use your common sence I would say. The different sub fora seems to get a bit out of hand nowedays. Where can we all meet with this many sub fora? What is next? A sub forum for the F-16 Viper block 15 OCU with an MLU upgrade? What I liked about the “old” forum was the diversity of the subjects, I think you are slowly killing the forum if you continue on this trend. But that is just me, what do you think about it? Should it be reversed? Or should we continue on this trend.

I particurlarly like the Naval, Missile and Army sub-forums. Thumbs up, IMHO.

There are no sub-forums on general discussion…;)

Nobody likes change, you’ll get used to it
Oh, well Steve I like changes when they are for the best, for instance the general forum was a superb idea. But I don’t like changes just for the sake of it. I think these change might potentially be damaging of the forum, and I would regret it if this forum would go down because of it. That’s all.

Sub forums are very annoying as i have expressed before. I living example of this is the forums at www.airwise.com. Amazingly knowledgable people there but a terrible format. A different froum for each major airline.

There are no further plans to sub-divide the forums. The subdivisions in the modern military forum were undertaken as the navy thread was becoming too large. The popularity of it suggested that some users were interested in naval topics as well as avaition, therefore the sub forum was created along with the others. This forum will not go the way as some other with many subdivisions, all the forums on this board are only one click away. Thanks for your comments 🙂 .

I have been away for some time and my reaction is the same as yours. The “old forum” as you put it was just fine. A forum is a meeting place as you suggest.

Good news : I agree with you Sauron today 🙂
