Fou d'Ailes, Cholet – 25 September 2016

And for those of you who like your aeroplanes à la français, here are a few pictures that I took at Cholet last Sunday – thanks to the municipalité, who stage this free biennial air display at the town’s aerodrome at not inconsiderable expense to it.

Thank you, Cabbage. It’s F-AZHD, which was built from a T-6 to replicate a NA-68 but was used in a film concerning Bien dien Phu to represent a Hellcat, that being the reason why it is painted in Aéronavale colours and markings. I trust that I haven’t confused anyone!

Am I right in thinking that picture #3 shows a T-6 Harvard/Texan modified to look like an F6F Hellcat ?
