I am interested in contacting anyone that was based in Foulsham, Norfolk during WWII. Particularly anyone that was attached to No. 180 Squardron flying B-25s

Hi Bob, Iām a bit too young to have served at Foulsham. But have a book which has a lot of data concerning 180 sqd and the Mitchells they flew. Any specific information you require I may be able to look it up for you.

31st Aug 43 Mid air collision over Foulsham between B17 Fortress 422sqd USAAF and Beaufighter V8715 96sqd RAF Fortress crashed on to church farm cattle sheds Pilot LT Trueshall & 7 crew killed, Beau crashed nearby 2 crew killed.
Found this information in previous mentioned book.

I live in Foulsham, and I am still digging bits of a B17 Eagre Eagle out of my back garden. I don’t suppose you know anything about this crash. It happened on 31st August 1943 at 23.30.
If you want photos of the airfield, there are a couple of rusty hangers, and a patch of concrete runway left. It is currently used as a turkey farm and the hangers are used for storage.
