On January 22nd. 1945 my Father along with 4 R.C.A.F. P.O.W.’s was transferred from Stalag Luft 6 to Stalag Luft 3.
Attached is a German recording of this event that errounously lists my father (Layne) as R.C.A.F. when in fact he was R.A.F.V.R.
My question for the forum is, can anyone give me information of the airman listed and can anyone identify the German who signed the paper.

If you want to see if they survived the war a quick check on the CWGC site will reveal all. As for the guy that wrote the list, he was probably German and should have paid more attention in handwriting class!
The details I have come from ‘Footprints on the sands of time’ by Oliver Clutton Brock. It contains a roll of Bomber Command POW’s and a lot of useful background info. It went onto clearance some time ago so you may be able to get acheap copy from the usual outlets or, failing that, get your local library to order it for you.
