FR Launch LGW-BVA?

Hey everyone,

Well, I was just browsing through the code for the route map at ryanair when i came accross this…

sLGW=’London (Gatwick)’,
aLGW=[‘ORK’,’DUB’,’BVA’,’SNN’],

Then when i looked in the flight booking system there it was. Paris. From Gatwick. Althought you cant book it, yet.

Maybe they will anounce it tomorrow with some more new routes from different places.

Anyone any ideas

Sorry guys, but it’s only a temporary route (one weekend). 14/15 September bookable but no others. My guess is that they are special flights for the Rugby World Cup.

To be quite honest, I would much rather travel by Eurostar than fly to Paris.

Even though the train takes longer, it is more reliable and environmentally friendly, and actually gets me closer to the centre (or as near as!) of Paris, rather than BVA, which is approx 1hr 10 mins away by train, or would cost approx 100-120 Euros in a taxi, and do bear-in mind that this is on-top of the cost of your flights…!

With the opening of High Speed 1, the new international rail station at Kings Cross St Pancras, travel times between London and Paris will soon be reduced to just 2hrs 15mins, which is actually quite reasonable.

Sorry, but I just cant see this one working out for FR…but that is just my opinion!:D

Would be interesting to know if anyone else shares the same, or has a similar opinion?

Stansted – Beauvais is there too, bit of a strange one Gatwick for FR but then they are the two London airports with no Paris connection so could make sense. FR was said to not want to compete with Eurostar but then they have recently relaunched Stansted – Charleroi so I guess it was just a matter of time.:D
