Just read in a book that at the November 17th 1939 meeting of the Supreme War Council, it was agreed that Britain and France would coordinate arms production. I guess it never really had chance to take effect, but does anyone know the plans for the two aviation industries, ie would each country have concentrated on developing only certain types of aircraft (a bit like the supposed agreement later that Britain would largely leave transport aircraft to the USA) ?

I know of no follow-up, Aero or otherwise. I’m sure you’re right: it never really had chance to take effect. The only Aero co-ordination of which I am aware was of the separate UK/French/Belgian Purchasing teams in US, who tried not to tread on each others’ toes by ratcheting up US prices. After June,1940 UK inherited all, paying in money. The French Head, Jean Monnet (future Father of the EEC), became Deputy Head of the Br. Supply Council in US.
