Just phone the British legion and ask for a collecting tin to rattle under everyones nose at work.

I did, and grabbed every customer. When they checked my tin they were amazed – first timer and one of the highest they had. Could it be the cheek, the sincerity, or the guilt trips laid on? I did find “You look like the kind of lady who deserves a flower” to be very effective. Kind of a white feather shaming routine, boot on the other foot.

I am going to watch from the field next to the M11.

Good place to be, you’ll see everything from there including the two minute silence 😀

As I have said else where on the interweb, it would be nice if anyone who takes up this offer, put something, or, all of the usual entrance fee into the Poppy Appeal collection tins.

Yes, they do that every year. Thoroughly reccomend you attend the service and the museum on that day. It is VERY eerie to stand by the runway when they call the two minute silence and everything stopped. There is plenty of time to think, see, listen. For me when I went I was thinking of F/Lt Francois de Spirlet who collided on take-off on 26th June 1942 and was killed on that runway.
