It’s been two weeks since I contacted Cheffins. They never got back to me. Useless ******s.

Probably cost an easy 100K to get the entire place sorted..

Would’nt surprise me. My parents rented one of two cottages standing almost in the garden of The Flowerpot. No electricity or running water, just the well in the back garden… with 64 & 65 Sqdn Meteors, Hunters and Javelins right on their doorstep. 😎
Late 50’s both cottages were condemned and pulled down.

IIRC it didn’t have any electricity laid on, back in the old days when it was a pub. Mind you there could be benefits from such a property investment, you could have got some great shots from the back garden of Black Six appearing unexpectedly at a certain past Autumn Air display…;)

Think of how much you could charge the photographers for those approach shot opportunities at Legends and at “just under an acre” this could be a goldmine at the next IWM organised Spitfire display farce! “Pre-pay ticket holders this way…”

I doubt it will be a pub again. There are already three in the village and even they struggle for business from time to time.
This particular property is just outside the usual residential boundary and therefore probably too far for anyone to stagger home from after a good lock-in.. especially if its foggy as there’s no kerb to follow. 😀

I agree the price does seem a bit steep, but if your into aviation / warbirds / photography it would probably take some beating as regards location!

it used to be The Flowerpot pub in the 50’s / 60’s.

Could it be a pub again?

Edit:

I’m looking at the plans of the house.. I see a door into the kitchen.. obviously the backdoor.. abother into the *sitting room* from around the back of the house….but it appears to be lacking a front door… specifically, one the allows one to enter the structure via the *hallway”???

Price is a bit steep, but it sure has a LOT of potential…

edit2, ok I see the front door, but apparently whoever did the plans didn’t….

Heads off to buy lottery ticket.. $28M tonight…

‘Renovation Opportunity’

or – Neglected dump in normal terminology.

‘Just under an acre’

or – You’ll get eleven houses on here!

For as long as there’s a big green open space there i don’t think that possibility will ever go away completely.
