Free wedding day flypast. Thanks and WHO??

Was at a wedding reception Saturday. Not your everyday wedding day reception of course. A mass champagne picnic in the most beautiful Cardingmill Valley, Church Stretton, Shroppy. Was an informal affair. Still in our finery, shiny shoes were swapped for walking boots and wellies!! I was saying to my best mate, (who was the groom and a man who has Avgas running through his veins) that I wish I had organised something, even though he wanted nothing but friendship and smiles as presents. I said, yeah, but a flypast by a few radial beasties would have gone down a treat with us? (not the new missus, but us) We laughed. Then…… BRmmmRrRmmmRRmmmm. Over the valley, in formation, (what I think were) 3 Yaks? Aerobatics I guess. Red and White. Well….. no-one else got the joke!! whomever they were….. Thanks. You made a great day even that more special for two dyed in the wool aviation mates. To use an over-used phrase….. “you had to be there!!!”
Cheers if you can tell us who it was…… would be good fer me funeral that would!!

Could they be the same team that flew at Broughton in the afternoon?

Could have been from the Yakovlevs team.

As I reported in the ‘Spotted’ thread on the Historic forum, I saw FOUR Yaks heading north over Bristol that morning just after 10:00.

This website page gives details of their wedding ‘hire’ service: http://www.yakovlevs.com/WeddingsDisplays/tabid/77/Default.aspx

I flew into Sleap a couple of weeks back and there were a couple of Yaks that appeared to be living there.
