French ARABEL radar on Chinese 052C?

France has a track record of supplying the PLAN with TAVITAC combat system, Crotale SAM, 100mm gun, sonars and naval helicopters so far and the radome on top of the Chinese 052C DDG looks very like ARABEL.

Does anybody know if the French sold ARABEL to the Chinese?

The bridge mounted radar is russian. That mast mounted radar is chinese and used in conjunction with the Type 730 CIWS (much the same as the russians have a dedicated search radar for each pair of Kashtan CIWS). Arabel is way bigger than the mast mounted radar. It is not Arabel.

speaking of radar,more than half of 168 and 170 shipborne sensor and communication system are russian origin,but 170 appear to have much more sophisticate and totally unknown EW system,is there any information on complete new EW system?

it is part of russian mineral-me i already posted a image of what radar actually looks like and it was exactly similar to the image of 052c’s radar before the dome was installed.

Is it this one?

Very unlikely. The radome on top of the 052C bridge appears more like the Russian Mineral-ME (Bandstand) or a close copy of it and is used for the extended range antiship missiles (YJ-62?). The radome on top of the mast appears more like a search radar rather than a SAM fire control one which are the four arrays set around the superstructure.

There is no reports of any Arabel sales to China, and it is very unlikely to be used for control of the Chinese HHQ-9 or Russian naval SAMs. But if there is that is remotely similar to an Arabel style radar, I don’t expect to be fitted on anything but the 054 FFG class frigates.
