Christophe Marchand, the pilot of the Mosquito replica in France, recently sent me these photos of it. As I thought they would be of interest to some on here, he very kindly obtained permission from the photographer, Morgan Pacorel, for me to post them.
Christophe says that they took the Mosquito to La Ferte Alais last weekend and had it on static display. It certainly looks impressive now that it has been painted up and had spinners added, a great effort by all concerned.

Christophe is an A400M test pilot for Airbus, and also flies the French DC-3 from the Dakota sur la Normandie group which was part of the energetic 2-ship routine at Legends last year. http://www.dakota-normandie.org/ He says that they hope to be back at Duxford for this year’s event.

I finally got to see it at Aerotop at Poitiers yesterday. The commentator said the the engines are 200 hp Continentals and the engine choice/installation was, in part, to give a sound as close to that of two Merlins as they could achieve. It may not have been the real thing; and is only three quarter scale; and doesn’t have Merlins – but none of those things detracted one iota from my enjoyment of watching its performance!

Probably two 120hp Jabiru 3300 engines then? “Lyconentals” six-cylinders would probably be a bit over the top…

Incredible – what an achievement!
Which engines does it have?
You could wait a little while for an answer, best I could find was a ‘flat 6’ engine.:D

I’ve taken the unusual step of bumping this post, as it may have slipped the eye of some. Great photos of a great project, thanks for posting.
