Forget that and listen to Radio2 now !!

Guess for sure he is no Anorak !:)
Agreed, but surely he could have genned up a bit on the subject (would BBC have a commentator at at football match who knew nothing about football?). Still, I will forgive him for his descripton on following up the instructions on firing up a Spitfire. Something he clearly appreciated.

Still I had a good laugh when Jeremy Vine kept referring to the bomb being dropped from the undercarriage !

I have to admit to turning the radio in the van right up when they throttled up the lancs engines when they had parked up……No voiceover just pure Merlin Magic. One can only wonder what a haunting noise a bomber stream would have sounded like, flying overhead…………

As is Jeremy Vine later in the day at 12.00
I turned off the Vine show as I couldnt stand his simpering sycophantic nasal voice any longer.
I’m not a great fan of the ginger one either, but Vines ‘Oooh theres a Spitfire taking off now’ right in the middle of Evans description of how emotional he felt regarding the Dams memorial events, was the last straw.

Just got back from there. I got there at about noon and was greeted by a Hurricane doing a quick flypast before landing. The Lancaster arrived at about 12:20 and did a very, very nice flypast before landing and taxiing to where BBC R2 were doing the show.
There were two people waving to us from the fuselage. I’m guessing one was Chrissy-wissy.

15.25 at Hendon, I hope the met clears a bit for them.

Think Hendon is in the flypast plans

Hi T-21, Thank you for the heads up, I was not sure if they may divert to Abberton reservoir
for an overfly.
Makes sense for the flight thru the gap but was hoping for a pass north of Stansteads ATZ
By: T-21 - 17th May 2013 at 09:24
Probably route direct overhead Lincoln Cathedral, Sleaford,Peterborough,Huntingdon,Royston,Harlow(dependent on Stansted ATC) to Dartford Bridg(to avoid City airport airspace)and then direct to Biggin Hill. Lucky Chris Evans flying Scampton to Biggin in the Lancaster very good on todays show from Scampton ,listen to Jeremy Vine Radio2 at 12 from RAF Biggin Hill. don’t forget the One Show on BBC 1 tonight.

I am hoping with excitement that the Lanc passes over essex and a few miles north east of Chelmsford. hint hint as I have some business that way this morning.
By: HP111 - 16th May 2013 at 18:17
Back to the original question. Will the route take in the southern M25? I sometimes see the lanc along there (and flying fairly low).
By: David_Kavangh - 16th May 2013 at 14:20
I believe so. As is Jeremy Vine later in the day at 12.00
By: Black Knight - 16th May 2013 at 14:09
No doubt Chris Evans will be banging on about this on the One Show later in the day
Isn’t he doing his Radio 2 show live from the Lanc?
