I Don’t Do Fast Jets
It was raining when I stepped off the train at Farnborough station on Friday morning, but not enough to get the waterproofs out. It had stopped by the time I was on site. For the flying in the afternoon I was on the crowd line just behind the Vulcan village tent at about display central. Although the rain held off for the rest of the day, it was cloudy and dark at times and when the sun did shine, it was usually through high cloud and gave hazy conditions. From the F-16/F-18/Typhoon displays, I was impressed with the Typhoon as I though it was more dynamic than the other two and extra plus points for doing it fully tooled up and popping the chute before the wheels touched down.

Very nice shots. Both sets. Static’s fine with clutter free angles. You did a very good job despite how the parked aircraft were arranged. Stall it is a trade show anyway and as you state, not with the photographer in mind.

A Few From The Static Display
As per usual with Farnborough, the static display is not set out with the photographer in mind so you have to make good of a bad situation. There appeared to be more aircraft on display in the Finmeccanica compound that the rest of the airfield. The highlight of the static’s for me was the McKinnon G21G Turbo Goose/N221AG. One of those aircraft I had seen a photo of but never thought I would see in the flesh, as it were. Photos in the order they were taken.
