HI all,
How can I fly a proper flight plan in the default aircraft….? Obviously I’d rather fly actual airlines but I cant ever get the tower to respond to me,
For Example,
I am flying to LHR (Heathrow) from ZRH (Zurich) and the Simulator says contact Heathrow tower on 121.700. I do this and I don’t ever hear anything back from them.
Also in midflight, I’d tune into…lets say…Paris Center and it would say open VFR or IFR flight plan…..what the helll is the bloody thing going on about

Exactly, I don’t know when or if it will talk to me…so all I can do is whilst flying, line my plane up with the runway and land it…hopefully!!

Guess the best thing to do is to plan your flight before hand using the planner within fs.
ATC within fs2004 is pretty lame sometimes but if you file a plan for ifr it knows where you would like to go at least. Then you can spend the rest of the flight thinking why am i on the wrong freq for here ? whens it going to give me turn to finals ?

Some of the pronounciations are laughable too…. Wyton tower=White-on

Who knows.
Lets get this straight, for all the guff Microsoft churn out about it FS2004 is a game with some elements of real life flying portrayed accurately and lots that are not.
There is no such thing as Paris Center in the real world.
There are a lovely gang of guys and gals called Paris Information who, in a typically Gallic way will tell you if you ask them for some that they don’t give out information. Honestly.
So, if you get no sense from Paris Center, at least it’s halfway accurate. (Funnily enough they do this in a French accent, not US)
