i’ve just treated myself to FS2004, and knowing my luck, i’m having problems.
at the same time i decided to install Just Flights FS Terrain and VFR Photo Scenery which i had from FS2002. they are both compatable.
how do i get rid of that annoying click sound whenever i click on a button in the settings and menus part of the game?
when i alter something in the menu such as a setting, or i create a flight, or anywhere in the menu, that click sound suddenly goes mad and repeats itself over and over like a machine gun, and then the computer restarts.
i then get this ‘serious error’ message when the system had restarted.
when i am trying to install VFR photo scenery, i also get this replacement water textures message, and the new water textures aren’t installed properly
does any one know what these mean and why they i get them?can any1 help? thanks
(i am running W XP on a powerful computer, so i shouldn’t think my hardware is a prob.)

thanks guys
i solved the problems a while ago by doing a clean install of FS9 and all of the add ons. FS9 has been problem-free since

Try posting a request on the VisualFlight forum:
http://www.visualflight.co.uk/forums/
I’ve always found them both helpful and prompt with their replies. They also have some utilities on their web site which might help with installing their products into FS2004.
I think someone has already mentioned updating the drivers on your video card; for me this has been one of the things that has solved a variety of FS-related problems.

That happened to me, I uninstalled the add-on’s and re-installed them.

I’m guessing you don’t have the right hardware for the software to run properly
what do you mean not having the right hardware? my computer meets the minimum spec. i don’t have broadband, but if i did i would dwnload the game update from the microsoft website – its a huge file – (for a dial-upper) and when i get boradband, i’ll download it to see if it solves the problem.
a trip to the justflight support website solved the VFR photo scenery installation problem.
thanks for the help

I had a similar sort of problem when I installed new textures in Flight Simulator not so long ago. When my computer restarted and told me how it had recovered from a serious error, I could click the ‘ok’ button and it would tell me if Microsoft knew of any updates that would sort the problem.
For me, I just needed to download a new driver for my graphics card, so I’m guessing it could be the same for you. If not, I’m guessing you don’t have the right hardware for the software to run properly.
