Fuji Digi Help Required

More often that not, if I go to an airshow, the weather is guaranteed to be less than a sunny day. This crates a problem. I have a Fuji 6900. This is excellent on blue, sunny days. However, not so when it’s a bit miserable. The resulting photo has a mucky orange-brown cast to it.

I think the Fujis of this period have a problem with putting too much red into the picture. Just by limited experimentation, I think it sometimes sets a too high shutter speed, whcih doesn’t help.

Settings? Due to time constraints, I use it in P mode, set a proppa white balance beforehand, use Multi mode and ISO 100.

Would also like to know where I can get an exif JPEG plugin so this info is retained in the shot after editing.

Can anyone help?

Photo is of Vic Fox, a tug Chippy at RAF Syerston taken Jan 2003. Shows the cast problem off (but only slightly). I’ve got worse ones elsewhere…

Cool, literally. 😉

If I can sort by jpeg problem, that’s most of the battle. I think my chum Moggy uses photoshop and seems to have more success using that than I do with PSP.

Looks like the photo was shot with a very low sun. When you shoot on slides, the first and last hours of the day, when the sun is low, are often “coming out” with a slightly orange (warm) colour on it. Many photographers (including myself) love those “Magic hour(s))” as they are called. The same story goes for photography during winters, when the sunlight turns more “yellow” anyway on slides. I’ll guess it is the same on digitals, although the WB might interfere, and prevent the “warming” of the image.. BW Roger
