Fuji S5000 static shots thread

Seeing as the previous thread was for flyers only, here’s one for statics and take-off/taxi shots. Other than that, same rules apply – only digital shots of historic aircraft with non-SLR cameras…

No prizes this time though… 🙁

These submitted by BenyBoy.

(Tip for Ben) The images you sent me were 200 dpi. If you can adjust your scanning to 72 dpi you should find it easier to post direct

Just recently got hold of a Hewlet Packard point and press kind of device… I seem to have managed some half decent shots 🙂

I am most pleased with this one, TIP, for a good Spitfire shot on the ground, wait at the end of a Duxford airshow next to the private pilots entry hut at the motorway end, and wait for the HFL Spitfires to taxy past to their hangar, the position of the taxiway and the lighting at this time works a treat, even with a ‘cheap and cheerful’ camera 😀

Cor – I can’t compete on quality but here’s three shots taken inside the main hangar at the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum, Wanaka, a week prior to WoW 2004 (Easter). I kick myself for not also taking a few shots inside the museum building, there were 4 or 5 WWI replicas in there including a magnificent Bristol Fighter (which surprised me with its size!), Fokker Triplane, Sopwith (Camel or Pup I can’t remember) and others. If/when you get a chance to visit New Zealand, do not miss this facility.

This realy is static, at the moment anyway…

I know these aren’t quite what you are looking for in static photographs, but i thought some of you may have wondered what the insides of a Merlin engine looks like.
These where taken with a Fugi Finepix A310.
Sorry about the quality.
