YAM Halifax’tastic. This will make the purists cringe, found it last night. A couple of guys in the US have built themselves some fullsize 109 Fs from assorted metal tube & glassfibre.

Scary stuff, but it does look like similar ground clearance to the Bearcat’s prop. Lets just hope he doesn’t need to get the tail up on take off or landing.
Surely the amount of money spent on building these replicas could buy you good flying time in a real Spitfire?

Would be good if they were available as a kit, like the FlugWerk ‘190s, but the designers/builders don’t want to have lawsuits put on them in case someone kills themselves in one 🙁

yeah, i saw this site about 2 years ago, but haven’t really heard anything more of them. A few guys on the avi8.com forum questioned the images authenticity. I don’t know really.
They look gorgeous though! I want one!!!!:D 😀 😀
