So I’m sure that most of you English Folks know of this replica,
I have a question about it and I don’t want to start the whole Mossie mess again but since this is a 1/1 scale how hard would it be to build up the wings and make this a complete airframe for Museum display that could and I use the word COULD release a static bound airframe for rebuild to flight.
Then I guess the next question would be would any museum part with there Mossie for a full scale mock up.

That’s what I meant, the Horsa was a much bigger and totally different creature. Thanks for correcting my error.

I don’t know what it is about that but the shape doesn’t look right to me. Looks more like a modified Horsa fuselage but then, what do I know? If I’m wrong I know someone will correct me in short order.
Do you mean Hotspur rather than Horsa?
I know nothing either. No disrespect to the builder but I’d rather spend 7 grand on a chipboard kitchen.
Regards,

900 posts and still full of sh!t, you’d think there was a limit wouldn’t you.
Thankfully Graham has a sense of humour…and as a bonus I can add something to the discussion without actually knowing anything about the subject…

Shouldn’t the thread now be renamed to …The Full Scale Mossie no longer on ebay?

Put like that gives a whole different aspect to the story. As a replica, given what they probably had to go on it would be unjust of me to criticise their considerable hard work. Have to give ten out of ten for effort and application if nothing else. I just wish I had the skills, space and time to do somthing similar with either a Whirlwind or Typhoon

Graham, which B&Q kitchen did you go for?
Couldnt tell you the wife chose it, its only chip board covered crap, they wanted 3K to fit it (thats £45 per hour give or take) 🙁 luckily i found a mate to do it, makes me think how much would all the projects you see on here really cost if you worked out the labour at £25 or £30+ an hour. You need much more skill than a Kitchen fitter i know that. The Mossey Rep might not be perfect but it took 10 years of pretty continuous work to make. Its gets a bit of a slating but who else world wide has had a goes at making a 1:1 Mosquito replica? in that respect i think its unique. I guess if you follow that to its logical conclusion its rarer than the real thing:diablo: To put things in perspective Whats a real mosquito worth? £1,000,000, £500,000 I dont know, for that you could have two or three complete Squadrons of replicas so I reckon its good value.

What a bunch of wits we have on here, or should that be Twits?:D Close yes, but not close enough for my liking. Unless it is the angle the photo was taken from it looks far to fat for the length. Sorry, being pedantic again which my wif reckons is something I’m very good at. Nice to know I’m good at something.

Mike
This already has debated see previous threads, its not perfect but its pretty close. would cost a small fortune to build from scratch, just had a quote from B&Q for a new kitchen they want 6.8K for as load of veneered chipboard, sort of puts the price/value of this replica in proportion. 😮

No bids received, so presumably back to square one.

Externally that somehow just looks wrong. Does the interior feature genuine Mossie parts does anyone know?

No – sorry!
