Here’s something… HMNZS Philomel, New Zealand’s Base in Auckland. You can clearly see HMNZS’ Canterbury and Wellington as well as one of the Anzac’s, one of the patrol boats, the Survey ship and the diving tender.
Well that link braughd me to an intresting site that has nothing to do with the HMNZS Philomel (well, maybe it has to do with the needs of the crew after several weeks sailing on the ocean ;))

Here’s another contribution from me… Williamstown Dock Yards which is where the RAN and RNZN’s Anzac class frigates were built.
If you look there, you can see one that’s finished (looks like a Kiwi one, judging by the colour- they are always there anyway getting fine tuning and picking up crew who had flown over for a course- can tell due to it’s colour, they have more blue inn their paint, ours are grey). There is also one nearing completion and one in the yard ready for launching.
As an added bonus, if you look right over to the left you can see the WWII mine sweeper HMAS Castlemaine, she’s an old Bathurst class that we made many of and after the war donated aboard to many nations.

Interesting thing is the double exposure on the last one, this means it’s was pulling in when the shot was taken!

I heard this morning on the news that the Aussie Government has asked Google to remove certain images from their Google Earth program citing security concerns. It’s interesting how the Whitehouse is not there by defaul but other countries have to ask for them to be removed.
