To those who wasted valuable time on a wild goose chase – apologies. Particularly as I should have picked up the problem earlier, but when I searched for an East Surrey group and found none I was content to wait until more information emerged.

Probably the people who do know a little about aviation sift through the dross on the forum and choose to post on the threads that they feel merit attention!

I am not as on the ball as I used to be. Can someone who knows more than me, (Ollie?) explain how Surrey crept into the title of this thread?

I have been on the ‘phone all day to contacts in that area. They in turn have been investigating the chance that there is a new Fury in Surrey.

I do hope we haven’t spent a whole day searching the wrong county have we?

They do excellent open days there and Merlin engine runs,a very very nice crowd and very interesting place to visit.
Oliie,if you ever go to visit there,i suggest you let someone else navigate.

East Surrey do NOT have a fury.Wish people would check facts before posting rubbish.

I have no idea where the airframe is, the group is called the Cambride bomber and fighter society.

I too was most intrigued, especially as I live in Surrey. Luckily all confusion was rectified by other forumites before I went driving aimlessly around the county.
