I always think of the Su-25 and A-10 when i hear CAS, but it seems that their future “replacements” will be totally different type of aircrafts (at least with the A-10).
given the ever changing nature of air combat and ground warfare, how long will it be before we stop seeing aircraft going “low and dirty”? already we see some air forces preferring to fly higher and dropping more precision guided munitions onto targets rather than flying low.
how will CAS evolve in the next 10 years? 20?
