I read an article about 5 years ago now, about a Condor being fished out of a lake in Norway, and transported to Germany for restoration and display. Haven’t heard anything about it since.
Does anybody have any further info ?

It’ll be really good to see one of these brought back from extinction.
Always thought it was an aesthetic looking beast.

I think a group of (mostly) retired volunteers are working on it. I saw pics of restored wingparts recently in a German mag. But as I said, don’t expect anything before 2010 or so.Parts of it were on show on the last 2 ILA’s in Berlin. I’ll have a look in 3 weeks time when I go to Berlin/ILA again. BW Roger

Glad to hear it.
Thanks Roger. Do you know who is restoring it?

It was raised, and is now undergoing restauration in Germany. It can take maybe 10 years or so, but it will be brought back to former glory. BW Roger

Its back was broken when it was raised, but I seem to remember they got it all up.

I recall an attempt to recover one, but it broke up into several chunks – never famous for having strong backs.
Don’t know if they tried again.
