Great picture, thanks for putting it up. Duxford becomes Duksvograd. 😀
If you get snowed in at HFL you could always get the spraygun out to while away the time…

Just curious, which unit is the badge on the cockpit ?
Btw, the strange form of the cowling, is it because of the Russian engine ?

Jag badges
You can check the Jagdeschwader badge from this list:

Someone should run up one of those tent thingys and then they could service the engine outside….

So they’ve dragged it out for a run then? Or maybe an airtest? Or is it to blow the dust off????!!!! Or maybe its going to have the engine removed, strapped to a truck and used as a snow blower!! Answers on a postcard please…

I’m fairly sure that the emblem is fictitious…
…along with its chances of flying on the G-Reg?!?:diablo:

No – its being moved to a different hangar.

I don’t get to look around the museum often, as it seems you were visiting when the 190 was being moved, as you’ve stated it was being moved to another hangar.
Did you see anything else of interest around the muesum? any other changes to aircraft positions?

Just in case any one is thinking of paying Duxford a visit this weekend
AirSpace open on Friday 8 January 2010
Due to extreme weather conditions, some of the exhibitions are closed today, but you can enjoy the whole of AirSpace – including the Concorde and interactive gallery at the reduced admission prices of £6.00 for Adult and £4.00 for Senior/Student. As usual children come FREE. The Museum shop and restaurant remain fully open.
In other words the hangers & the American Air Museum are not accessible and I can see this in place till the snow is gone.

Four visitors through the gates today, so I’ve just been informed.
FW is outside again, looks good in the snow.

Sorry Henry – I was not there at the time, so cannot help you on that – but take a look at this website – its often updated and a good way to keep up to date with things at DX http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mclaydon/indexpage.htm

Would have been five if they hadn’t restricted access to the place. 😀

re;
Would have been a good chance to take some pics with WW2 reenactors in the snow.

No – its being moved to a different hangar.
Hopefully then it’ll have its chance to fly soon. I wish them all the luck.

I believe it too and this will be always a mystery to me, why to “invent” a decoration, while so many amazing real decorations are possible (especially for late-war 190A/F’s with round canopy).
