Yes, I know it’s a replica, but the colour scheme intrigued me. I was wondering whether anyone knew if it was authentic?

At least the wings come off this one so it can be stored and transported easily. It’s certainly an important consideration if you choose to own one of these little ‘planes.
Good point Robbo , and they are very helpful too – the wings even fail mid-air just to get you down on the ground very quickly thus saving you fuel – look through some of the FAA Accident Investigations – quite a few WAR replicas in there .

Daz
google “Schlangenschwarm” or “JGr10” and you’ll come up with the artwork from some of the Eagle Cals decal sheets for these aircraft produced by Jerry and Judy Crandall – Jerry was responsible for the new (or should that be recreation of the) colour scheme of the Champlin Dora-13

Really? You wouldn’t happen to have any pics of something like that, would you?

sure is
represents an aircraft of JGr 10 which was a small weapons testing unit. The red/yellow snake design – which continues forward onto the cowling with an snake’s head with wide open mouth was carried by the so called Schlangenschwarm part of this unit.
